General check-ups, illness management, referrals, and ongoing care for patients of all ages, available at both practices.
When something does not feel right, or you are due for a check-up, Primecare Medical Health Centre is here to help. General consultations cover the full range of everyday health concerns, from minor illnesses to ongoing chronic conditions, at both our Sasolburg and Phalaborwa practices.
What does a general consultation involve?
A general consultation gives you time with a general practitioner to talk through your symptoms, health history, and any concerns you may have. Depending on what comes up, this may include a physical examination, a referral to a specialist, or on-site ultrasound services to support diagnosis.
Appointments are available for both new and existing patients, and there is no need for a referral to book a general consultation at either practice.
Who is this for?
General consultations suit almost anyone, whether you are dealing with:
- A sudden illness or infection
- An ongoing condition that needs monitoring
- Non-urgent symptoms you would like checked
- A need for repeat prescriptions or referrals
What happens during my visit?
You will be seen by one of our general practitioners, who will talk through your symptoms and medical history before deciding on the next step. This might mean treatment on the day, a referral for further tests, or a follow-up appointment to track your progress.
How should I plan my visit?
Bring along any relevant medical records, current medication, or previous test results, as these help build a fuller picture of your health. If your visit relates to an ongoing condition, it is worth noting any changes in your symptoms since your last consultation.
Consultations are available at both our Phalaborwa and Sasolburg practices, Monday to Saturday.
Follow-up care
Some conditions call for more than a single visit. Where ongoing monitoring is needed, your practitioner will recommend a suitable schedule for follow-up appointments, whether that means a review a few weeks later or a longer-term check every few months. This continuity makes it easier to track how you are responding to treatment and to pick up on any changes early.
If a referral to a specialist is needed, your practitioner will explain why, and help you understand what to expect from that next step.
